KIIDP II — Kampala Infrastructure Compliance Audits

Client: KCCA / World Bank

Location: Kampala City, Uganda

The Challenge

Large-scale urban infrastructure expansion (road widening, drainage channels) generates air pollution, noise, dust, soil erosion, and worker safety risks. Ensuring compliance with NEMA standards and World Bank social safeguard policies requires rigorous environmental monitoring and rapid corrective action.

Our Role

Earth Partners provides ongoing environmental compliance monitoring across KIIDP II interventions.

What We Delivered

  • Air Quality Monitoring: Ambient air sampling at project sites (dust, PM2.5, PM10 levels vs. standards)

  • Noise Assessment: Ambient noise logging during construction phases; compliance with WHO guidelines

  • Soil Erosion Audits: Erosion control effectiveness; sediment management at drainage sites

  • Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Inspections: Worker PPE compliance, equipment safety, incident reporting

  • Grievance Tracking: Community complaints documentation and resolution monitoring

  • Compliance Reports: Monthly environmental monitoring reports to KCCA and World Bank

  • Corrective Action Plans: Remedial measures for non-compliances
