BMC Hospital — ESIA

Client: BMC Hospitals

Location: Sheema District, Uganda

The Challenge

Expanding a medical clinic to full hospital status increases environmental and health risks: wastewater generation (medical waste, pharmaceuticals, pathogens), hazardous waste disposal, air pollution from incinerators, energy demand, and occupational health/safety exposure. Securing NEMA approval and ensuring patient/staff safety requires rigorous ESIA aligned with healthcare standards.

Our Role

Earth Partners conducted ESIA aligned with IFC Performance Standards, World Bank guidelines, and Uganda Ministry of Health requirements.

What We Delivered
